Key Responsibilities
- Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring they meet requirements and providing instructions to obtain accurate results while minimizing anxiety.
- Operate nuclear medicine equipment and associated devices to achieve optimal imaging results.
- Position patients and equipment appropriately, respecting patient safety and comfort.
- Perform venipuncture, establish and maintain venous access, and prepare/administer radioactive isotopes following proper protocols.
- Evaluate image quality and data accuracy for diagnostic purposes.
- Document safety incidents or adverse events per protocol and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Process and manipulate digital data, ensuring proper identification and quality of images.
- Use radiology information systems, including PACS, to complete records, reports, and image archiving.
- Accurately document all procedure-related information in electronic medical records, including medication reconciliation.
- Coordinate radiopharmaceutical order and assist with PET services as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine program.
- Certified by CNMT or ARRT(N).
- Current BLS certification.
- Experience with nuclear medicine procedures and equipment.
- Ability to perform venipuncture and administer radiopharmaceuticals.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical nuclear medicine environment.
- Familiarity with PACS and radiology information systems.
- Strong patient communication skills.
