Key Responsibilities
- Perform cardiac diagnostic tests including transthoracic, transesophageal, stress, and pharmacological echocardiography as ordered by physicians.
- Conduct additional cardiac assessments such as EKGs, Holter monitoring, and stress tests.
- Operate mechanical devices like echocardiographs, cardiac stress systems, electrocardiographs, and Holter monitors to obtain accurate diagnostic information.
- Manage scheduling, processing, and billing of studies within hospital information systems.
- Follow infection control and aseptic techniques to ensure safety and equipment disinfection.
- Provide clinical guidance and preceptorship to students from contracted colleges and universities.
- Perform age-specific cardiac diagnostic tests for neonatal and pediatric patients, adhering to established guidelines.
- Complete all other assigned duties within the scope of practice and job responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer credential (e.g., RDCS or similar)
- Successful completion of a certification program or minimum of two years hands-on echocardiography experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Extensive experience performing echocardiography in a hospital setting.
- Experience working with pediatric and neonatal cardiac assessments.
- Certification in advanced cardiovascular sonography (preferred).
