Key Responsibilities

• Assist during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment and providing instrumentation to the surgical team.
• Ensure the integrity of sterile fields, monitor sterile environments, and participate in unit activities to uphold high-quality patient care.
• Collaborate with the perioperative team, including patient transports, room turnovers, and preparation.
• Model professional behavior and effective communication within the surgical team.
• Maintain and check surgical instruments and equipment for proper sterilization and functionality.
• Support the team in adhering to safety standards and best practices, including AORN standards and principles of a Just Culture.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program or Licensed Surgical Technologist license in Colorado.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.
• Ability to obtain necessary computer skills within 90 days.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Working knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures.
• Experience with Tier 1 surgical cases or developing competency in surgical technology.
• Familiarity with sterile and aseptic techniques and surgical instrumentation.
