• Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Location
• Salem, VA
Schedule / Job Type
• Travel, 13-week assignment, Night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), Full-time
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients, including post-operative orthopedic and pediatric patients
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and utilize equipment such as IV pumps and SCDs
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Document patient progress accurately using electronic medical records
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort during the hospital stay
• Support patients transitioning through post-operative recovery and specialized procedures
Required Qualifications
• Current BLS certification
• Excellent communication skills
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience in a medical-surgical setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
• PALS certification or ability to obtain
• Experience caring for pediatric or orthopedic post-op patients
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR system
