Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit, including post-cardiac cath, surgical, post-op orthopedic, and other critically monitored patients.
• Monitor and manage cardiac rhythms, chest tubes, and surgical patients with cardiac drips, epidurals, and PCA.
• Collaborate with a team of RNs, PCTs, and clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Utilize electronic medical records to document patient progress and interventions.
• Adhere to protocols for emergency procedures and patient safety.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state of Virginia or appropriate state license.
• Two or more years of experience in a PCU or Med/Surg setting.
• Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and management of surgical and postoperative patients.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS.
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients effectively.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with chest tube management, epidurals, and critical drips.
• Strong teamwork and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Outgoing and team-oriented personality willing to go above and beyond for patient safety and comfort.
