Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Intermediate Care (IMC), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and Stepdown units.
- Float to similar units as needed, supporting clinical operations across departments.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, implement care plans, and document appropriately.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Support post-operative, cardiac, and vascular patients, including those with open or closed-heart surgeries.
- Assist with trauma care in a Level 1 trauma facility, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an acute care unit.
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; NIHSS required prior to start.
- Experience with Epic EMR system within the past 2 years.
- Large trauma Level 1 experience within the last year.
- Cardiac, cardiothoracic, vascular, and post-op care experience, including post-op day 1.
- Valid RN license for the state of Vermont.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- PCCN certification preferred.
- Experience caring for trauma and surgical patients in a high-volume hospital setting.
- Reliable transportation and preparedness for winter conditions with all-season or snow tires.
