Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care to patients in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), ensuring safe and effective recovery.
- Conduct initial patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and manage patient pain and nausea as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, collaborating with physicians and healthcare team members.
- Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately in accordance with hospital standards.
- Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care and recovery procedures.
- Assist with special projects and participate in staff training and orientation efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Current New Mexico RN license or valid Compact state license.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification from AHA.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification from AHA.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification from AHA.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in PACU or a similar setting.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a surgical or recovery unit.
- Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
