Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, Night shift (3x12-hour shifts per week, 19:00 – 07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide postpartum and antepartum nursing care for high-risk patients, including those with preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, previa, twins, and substance use disorder in pregnancy
- Assist with sterile speculum exams, fetal monitoring, and support of sterile procedures at the bedside
- Maintain and care for central lines such as PICC and CVC, including Medications like anticoagulants, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Circulate during labor and delivery, including management of C-sections and high-risk deliveries
- Support patients experiencing fetal demise or pregnancy loss, both antepartum and postpartum
- Document and monitor patient status, facilitate communication with multidisciplinary teams
Required Qualifications
- Valid nursing license (WA license or compact license)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent obstetric and postpartum nursing experience
- Certification in BLS, NRP, and advanced AWHONN required; ACLS preferred
- Experience with high-risk obstetric patients and procedures (e.g., sterile speculum exams, IV therapy, central line maintenance)
- Ability to float to postpartum units and support high-acuity care
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience managing patients with antepartum complications such as previa, preeclampsia, twin pregnancy, or substance use disorder
- Skilled in high-risk obstetrics procedures and medications
- Knowledge of NICU protocols for postpartum mothers with babies in the NICU
