- Full-time, 3x12-hour night shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac telemetry patients, including those with arrhythmias, pacemakers, or defibrillators.
- Monitor patients using telemetry systems, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Lasix, and Heparin.
- Administer medications and treatments with attention to cardiac protocols and patient safety.
- Follow hospital policies on patient care, documentation, and unit protocols, including EPIC charting and Pyxis medication management.
- Support float requirements across telemetry units and potentially other related units within the facility.
- Participate in a 36-hour orientation to ensure familiarity with unit systems and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry or cardiac stepdown nursing experience.
- Valid State RN license (NC or Compact license) in hand at start.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date.
- Comfortable with cardiac drips and interpreting dysrhythmias.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working with a heart failure navigator or similar multidisciplinary teams.
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with systems such as Epic and Pyxis.
- Ability to float within related units when needed.
