Registered Nurse Oncology

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to medical-surgical patients with oncology diagnoses, including administering chemotherapy and biotherapy via IV, PO, or injections
• Monitor and manage patients' conditions, including blood product administration, central line care, and wound management
• Assist with complex procedures such as port access, PICC line management, and insertion of surgical drains and chest tubes
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to isolation and infection control protocols
• Collaborate with healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation using EMR systems and follow established communication protocols

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient medical-surgical RN experience
• Current RN license in North Carolina or eligible for licensure in NC
• Valid oncology certification (OCN) required at start; ability to administer chemo preferred
• Experience with IV access, blood draws, and advanced patient care procedures
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse or leadership experience
• CPI certification
• Experience working in Oncology settings and with complex patient populations
