Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery in a large teaching hospital setting.
• Manage critical care PACU skills such as art lines, titrating drips, and cardiac monitoring.
• Float to different units, including weekends and on-call shifts, based on schedule needs.
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, including maintaining all required certifications and documentation.
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions and document all employment gaps exceeding 90 days.
• Work with Epic EMR system, utilizing recent experience to deliver quality patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience with at least 2 years in PACU.
• Critical care PACU skills with high acuity patient experience.
• Experience with critical care procedures such as art lines, titrating multiple drips, and cardiac monitoring.
• Prior employment in a large, teaching hospital environment.
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years.

• Experience operating in busy hospital settings with diverse patient needs.
• Ability to adapt to variable shifts, including weekends and call.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail regarding employment history and hospital protocols.

Additional Details

• Travel rate: $97; local rate: $87 (within 50 miles); distance based on straight-line measurement.
• No block scheduling; shifts are 12 hours, three times per week, with no set shift schedule.
• Valid and current work history reporting is mandatory, including hospital details and EMR experience.
• Reliable transportation is strongly recommended, especially during winter months with seasonal tires.
