Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Location: Austin, TX
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, 13-week contract, night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, rotating weekends, no call required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to laboring mothers and newborns in a high-volume, Level IV Labor and Delivery unit
- Monitor fetal heart rates utilizing external fetal monitoring equipment and perform internal monitor placement as needed
- Assist with procedures such as SVD, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLAC
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient delivery experiences
- Adhere to unit policies, including attendance, dress code (navy blue scrubs, solid blue/black or grey sweatshirts), and safety protocols
- Maintain certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE; demonstrate SVE competency and C-section circulation skills
Required Qualifications: - At least 2+ years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
- Valid RN license in the state of Texas
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE
- Proficiency with fetal monitoring (EFM), SVE, and C-section support
Preferred Experience / Skills: - Experience with internal fetal monitoring placement
- Previous employment with HCA or similar high-volume facilities
- Background working in Level IV units handling complex deliveries and procedures
