Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care in ICU/PCU/Stepdown units within a Level I trauma center.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias.
• Manage post-procedure and post-surgical patients, including cardiac-related cases.
• Administer medications, including Vasoactive and Cardiac drips, following protocols.
• Care for patients with respiratory tubes, chest tubes, and ventilators.
• Perform IV therapy, port access, blood product administration, and manage central and peripheral lines.

Required Qualifications

• Valid IL RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 18 months of recent RN experience in an acute care setting.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Experience with Cerner charting system.
• Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Willingness to work night shifts (18:45 - 07:15).
• Strong understanding of cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and complex patient care procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience in a Level I trauma center, teaching hospital, or with surgical drains.
• Experience with RQI or Red Cross certifications.
• Knowledge of trauma and neurological patient care, including CVA management.
• Prior charge nurse experience is a plus.
