Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week, 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a 12-bed intermediate care unit utilizing neuroscience and critical care principles.
• Manage patients with conditions such as neuro trauma, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, ENT post-tumor resection, post-operative spine care, and various neurological issues.
• Adhere to unit policies and procedures, including float policies and Epic charting requirements.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient information accurately and timely in the electronic medical record systems.
• Maintain clinical competencies, including BLS, ACLS, and NIH certification.

Required Qualifications

• Valid nursing license in the state of Virginia (pending licenses accepted with license in-hand by the Wednesday before start date).
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification prior to start (can be submitted pending).
• Epic electronic medical record experience.
• Ability to adhere to facility float policies and travel compliance requirements.
• Must meet Tier 2 travel compliance standards and cross the mile radius rule as applicable.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous ICU or stepdown experience in neuroscience or critical care settings.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Experience with complex neurological patient populations.
