Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or Stepdown units, with potential to float to other specialized campuses.
• Respond to patient needs with a focus on acuity levels suitable for stepdown and PCU settings.
• Perform IV starts and electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, including required certifications such as BLS and ACLS.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and interventions during 12-hour night shifts.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Valid, active compact or state nursing license in Ohio at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience in acute care settings.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Proficiency in IV starts and electrocardiogram interpretation.
• Ability to float to various units and campuses as needed, including possible assignments at other hospital campuses.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior float pool experience across various PCU/Stepdown units.
• Experience working within the Ohio State University hospital system or similar environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work efficiently during night shifts.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete fingerprinting immediately upon contract signing to meet strict compliance deadlines.
• RTO (Request Time Off) must be built into the contract at time of submission.
• Only submit candidates to one location; the hiring team will determine the best fit.
• Local candidates are accepted at the standard rate.
• Travel compliance is mandatory, and candidates outside Ohio must be prepared to complete fingerprinting either in Ohio or via mailed packets promptly.
• References: Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor or manager.
• No coworker references accepted.
• Former employees are eligible for travel assignments after a 6-month absence.
