Schedule / Job Type
- Temporary Travel, 13-week assignment, Night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to labor and delivery patients in a busy hospital setting.
- Support patient preferences and promote vaginal birth opportunities through advanced patient support techniques.
- Assist with procedures such as circulating in the OR, inserting IUPC and FSE, administering MgSO4, managing postpartum hemorrhage, and assisting with nitrous oxide delivery.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including midwives, CRNAs, OB-GYNs, and support staff, maintaining a focus on patient safety and comfort.
- Maintain accurate documentation using hospital systems, including CPN and Meditech.
- Support unit policies, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the hospital’s recognition as a distinguished department.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of Tennessee or appropriate state licensure.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring required.
- Proven ability to support laboring patients with a focus on quality care and patient-centered support.
- Experience with labor support procedures and ability to handle high-risk deliveries is preferred.
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a floating policy to assist other units as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with spinning babies techniques and STABLE methods helpful.
- Knowledge of labor and delivery equipment and documentation systems such as CPN and Meditech.
- Ability to support personalized birth experiences and work effectively within a team that promotes patient choice.
