Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) setting, utilizing the nursing process.
- Float between departments and/or within local locations within 20 miles as required.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, responses, and care actions.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols, ensuring documentation compliance.
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and ongoing care needs.
- Supervise and provide guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel.
- Complete required education and competency testing related to patient populations and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing license in the State of New Mexico or a valid Compact State license.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of current experience in a relevant specialty.
- At least one previous 13-week travel assignment.
- Ability to pass BCA (basic cardiac arrhythmias) testing during the first week of assignment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC electronic health record experience (training available onsite).
- Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
