• Full-time, Contract (13 weeks), Days shift (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM), 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care in the operating room for various surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during operative procedures, ensuring patient safety and compliance with protocols.
• Prepare, sterilize, and manage surgical instruments and equipment, including robotic and endovascular devices.
• Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery, documenting all relevant information accurately.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe operating room workflows.
• Assist in orienting or mentoring new or less experienced staff as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license for the state of Texas.
• Minimum of 1 year of perioperative (OR) nursing experience.
• Experience with general, orthopedic, neuro, vascular, or cardiovascular surgery including procedures like CABG, TAVR, EVAR, and open vascular surgeries.
• Ability to work a variable schedule with shifts that may include different room types and case types.
• Basic knowledge of OR equipment, including robotic and endovascular systems.
• Flexibility and adaptability to different working environments within the OR.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CVOR experience with at least two years in adult open heart procedures, including transcatheter and endovascular cases.
• Trauma and vascular surgery experience, including fistula creation and endarterectomy.
• Exposure to newer technology and equipment used in advanced surgical procedures.
• Ability to assist and mentor new graduate staff within the department.
