Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized bedside care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population, including stroke, post-operative, and hospice patients.
• Manage patients with various conditions such as heparin drips, wound care, altered mental status, dialysis, and COPD exacerbations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Complete onboarding modules and policies during a dedicated training day, followed by up to two orientation shifts to ensure smooth transition into the role.
• Document patient progress and interventions accurately using electronic health records.
• Maintain current certifications and skills to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
• Recent healthcare experience in a Med/Surg setting, with travel or agency background preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic Electronic Health Records system.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and complete up to three shifts per week.
• Must be able to attend required onboarding and orientation shifts.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Stroke certification or experience managing stroke patients.
• Experience with post-operative, ICU, or step-down care.
• Ability to handle a variety of complex patient cases, including emergency and hospice care.
