Job Title

Key Responsibilities
• Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary diabetes management team to deliver patient and family education on diabetes mellitus.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established policies, standards of care, and state laws.
• Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in accordance with standards.
• Support department performance improvement initiatives and participate in shared governance activities.
• Act as a resource for patient education, developing and supporting educational materials and addressing related issues.
• Support patient safety and experience by applying critical thinking and escalating concerns as needed.
• Float to various units as needed based on clinical competency and departmental needs.

Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• Approved CPR certification (required within 90 days of hire).
• CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist) certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• BSN degree preferred.
• Experience in diabetes education or a related clinical setting preferred.
• Ability to work variable hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
