Key Responsibilities
• Float between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles as required
• Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment, maintaining ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 for certain patients
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring documentation complies with policy
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team to coordinate care and meet discharge needs
• Supervise and mentor LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Follow protocols and standards of care, ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes
• Complete required education, competency testing, and documentation for pediatric critical care
Required Qualifications
• Current Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience, with at least two (2) years in a 12-plus bed PICU
• State license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico or a Compact State
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Pediatric CVICU experience a plus
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment
