Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to neonates in a Level II NICU setting, including infants 34 weeks and above.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and perform procedures such as UVC/UAC line placement, intubation, and resuscitation.
• Support and educate families, providing patient/family teaching.
• Assist with deliveries and provide 1:1 recovery care for newborns when cross-trained.
• Stabilize and transfer higher acuity or lower gestational age infants as needed, adhering to established protocols.
• Float within scope to postpartum and well newborn nursery units as required, supporting facility needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent NICU experience within the past 12 months.
• Valid RN license; pending licensure accepted.
• Current BLS certification; NRP required; STABLE preferred.
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and mandatory call shifts (2 call shifts every 6 weeks).
• Strong skills in neonatal care, including blood glucose monitoring, feeding, infection control, and IV therapy.
• Knowledge of standard NICU equipment and procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cross-trained in attending deliveries and postpartum/couplet care.
• Experience with neonatal procedures such as chest tube placement, lumbar puncture, and surfactant administration.
• Willingness to support well newborn assessments and procedures in lower census periods.
• Ability to float within scope to related units as necessary.
