Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type:
Full-time, night shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room utilizing the nursing process during assigned shifts.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, actions taken, and responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and ensure proper documentation.
• Ensure patient and family education and discharge planning throughout the episode of care.
• Supervise and provide clinical guidance to LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Complete patient-specific and protocol-based education and competency assessments.
• Pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test prior to start; candidates have one opportunity to re-test if failed.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Nursing License for New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications through recognized organizations (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety).
• Minimum of two (2) years of current experience in a large Emergency Department.
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player.
• Must pass a BCA (Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia) test (onsite administered) prior to starting.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with Epic electronic health records (preferred but not required; training available onsite).
• Flexibility to float between departments and locations within 20 miles.
