Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute inpatient care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown unit, managing complex cardiac and medical conditions.
• Float to various units as needed, with flexibility to adapt to patient care demands.
• Administer medications including insulin and cardiac drips, start IVs, and perform post-cardiac cath procedures.
• Monitor patients using telemetry and invasive monitoring devices, respond to patient needs promptly, and document care accurately in EPIC system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including CNA/PCT staff, unit clerks, and telemetry technicians, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Adhere to unit protocols such as drips, infusions, and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and certifications.

Required Qualifications

• Active NY registered nurse license and files on record.
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry or PCU/Stepdown experience in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS certification required prior to start.
• Experience with insulin drips, cardiac drips, starting IVs, and post-cardiac cath care.
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health record system within the past 2 years.
• Ability to work night shifts, including every other weekend, with flexibility to meet unit needs.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of advanced monitoring equipment and protocols for acute cardiac care.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
