• Full-time, Days shifts, 8 hours per shift, 5 days per week
Key Responsibilities
• Educate students in a self-contained “Functional Skills” program for grades K-2
• Manage a caseload of approximately 12 students, focusing on specialized instructional strategies
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with students’ needs
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment to facilitate student growth
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure program success
Required Qualifications
• Valid Washington State teaching certification in Special Education
• Experience working with early elementary students in a self-contained or functional skills setting
• Strong ability to implement individualized instruction and behavior management strategies
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of developmental and functional curriculum for K-2 students
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Prior experience in a classroom serving students with special needs
• Familiarity with functional skills programming and behavioral interventions
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles
