Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the emergency department utilizing the nursing process.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, care actions, and responses.
- Coordinate care with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered treatment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols and policies.
- Monitor patient responses and discharge needs, providing education and support throughout the care episode.
- Supervise and collaborate with LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- Minimum of 2 years current experience in a large emergency department.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications through recognized certifying organizations.
- Successful passing of a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test administered onsite.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Epic electronic health records system (training available if needed).
- Prior completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to departmental changes.
- Flexibility to float between departments or local facilities within a 20-mile radius.
