Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to cardiac ICU patients, including post-CABG, post-VAD, and post-catheterization patients with various cardiac support devices.
• Monitor hemodynamics, including swan-ganz catheters and arterial lines, and manage ventilators.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered critical care.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately using Meditech system.
• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain a high standard of professional nursing practice in a dynamic ICU environment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid active Texas RN license (no temporary licenses accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience, preferably in a cardiac or ICU setting
• Certification in BLS and ACLS
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management
• NIH certification required
• Strong critical thinking skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Exposure to IABP and CRRT procedures
• Experience with Meditech charting and order entry
• Familiarity with post-cardiac support procedures (ECMO, Impella)

• Worksite: 7700 Floyd Curl Drive, San Antonio, TX 78229
• Shifts are nights, with a projected start date of 01/13/2026
• Contract duration: 13 weeks, with the possibility of extension
• No floating restrictions, but all travelers are required to float per hospital policy.
• Uniform: Navy scrubs; hair must be neat and clean; body art should be covered when possible.
• Attendance and punctuality are mandatory, with proper badge-in/out procedures.
