Key Responsibilities

• Provides safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care to an assigned group of patients during each shift.
• Conducts assessments, develops care plans, implements treatments, evaluates patient responses, and documents care provided.
• Coordinates patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Initiates and follows protocols and standards of care, ensuring adherence throughout the patient episode.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, documenting all actions accurately.
• Addresses patient and family learning needs and discharge planning from admission through stay.
• Oversees the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.

Required Qualifications

• Two (2) years of current experience in an 18+ bed telemetry or progressive care unit.
• Must be a team player, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.
• Must pass a BCA (Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia) test onsite before starting; candidates have one re-test opportunity. A second failure results in contract cancellation.
• Valid nursing license in New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from recognized certifying organizations (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
• NIHSS certification (optional).
