Registered Nurse - CVICU

Baltimore, MD
Schedule / Job Type
Full-time, night shifts, 3 days per week (12-hour shifts)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care to patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Admit and manage cardiac and post-surgical patients, including overflow cases
- Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and respond to critical events
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a CVICU setting
- Valid Maryland or Compact nursing license
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and SCIP certifications
- Ability to admit and manage cardiac patients
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience floating within ICUs or related units
- Familiarity with hospital policies regarding travel and separation
- Strong documentation and communication skills
