Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Alexandria, LA
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shift (7 PM – 7 AM), 13-week travel assignment
Hours Per Shift: 12 hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide independent nursing care in a cardiac and telemetry unit, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided accurately in medical records.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, offering education and support.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care and appropriate care delegation.
• Demonstrate leadership by managing contingencies and making appropriate clinical decisions.

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• ACLS certification from AHA required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience in telemetry or cardiac units preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong communication and patient education skills.
