Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care within the Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology Laboratory, including assisting with diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Prepare patients and procedure areas, ensuring proper documentation and patient readiness.
- Monitor patients’ heart and blood vessel conditions before, during, and after procedures using advanced cardiology equipment.
- Assist physicians with procedures such as catheterizations, device placements, structural heart interventions, neuro-interventions, and electrophysiology tests.
- Administer procedural sedation and demonstrate proficiency in circulating procedures and operating monitoring systems.
- Ensure safety standards are maintained for patients, staff, and self, during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Participate in the precepting of new staff members and pursue ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing degree (Associates or Bachelor’s within 36 months if applicable) or Nursing Diploma from an accredited program.
- Current RN license registered in the United States.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Prior ICU, CVICU, IMC, or Cath Lab experience preferred.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working specifically in a Cardiovascular or Electrophysiology Lab setting.
- Ability to operate specialized cardiology and neuro-interventional equipment, including intra-cardiac ultrasound, 3D mapping systems, X-ray fluoroscopy, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Knowledge of structural heart procedures like TAVR and LAAO, and neuro-interventional procedures such as stroke thrombectomy and carotid stenting.
