Key Responsibilities
• Provide clinical support and education to new staff, experienced nurses, and students within the medical-surgical unit.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate educational and professional development activities, including orientation and ongoing training.
• Support nursing staff with complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment plans.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff, enhancing clinical skills and performance.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and maintain evidence-based standards of care.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, perform quality audits, and report issues related to patient safety and care quality.
Required Qualifications
• Valid and current Registered Nurse license for the state of Alaska.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting is preferred.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Strong knowledge of clinical practice standards and procedures.
• Experience managing acutely ill patients and utilizing medical equipment.
• Skilled in patient education and teaching methods.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams and adapt to flexible schedules.
