Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care to pediatric cardiac ICU patients, including those with congenital heart disease, post-surgery, or on Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), ECMO, or Heart Transplant.
• Monitor and support patients using ventilatory, cardiac, and complex supportive therapies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive pediatric cardiac care.
• Document patient progress and care activities accurately in an electronic medical record system.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during night shifts, adhering to unit protocols and standards.
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations, with on-call requirements as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina or multi-state/compact RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU (CVPICU) experience.
• Current certifications: PALS and BLS (American Heart Association only).
• Valid CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) is highly preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric cardiac surgery recovery experience.
• Knowledge of complex pediatric supportive therapies such as ECMO and CRRT.
• Previous experience working in a Magnet-designated or award-winning unit.
• Ability to float within the scope to meet unit needs.
