Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Coordinate and deliver nursing care based on practice standards, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure quality and cost-effective outcomes.
- Serve as a resource for clinical situations, applying age-specific and cultural considerations in care delivery.
- Support the organization's mission by caring for patients from birth to elderly, maintaining competence and compliance with licensing requirements.
- Administer treatments, medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and educate patients and families as part of comprehensive care.
- Supervise unit staff, including secretaries and PCTs, in collaboration with the charge nurse.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an NLN-approved nursing program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- One year of healthcare experience preferred.
- Proficient in medical terminology, nursing skills, and basic EKG understanding.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to interpret medical data, manage care, and work independently with flexibility.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in outpatient, clinic, or ambulatory care settings.
- Familiarity with medical equipment such as EKG and cystoscopy tools.
- Knowledge of care management, the nursing process, and regulatory guidelines.
- Ability to utilize computer applications and interpret data effectively.
