Key Responsibilities
- Support and promote the mission and values of the organization.
- Perform therapeutic procedures under physician or healthcare provider orders, following evaluation by the supervising therapist.
- Treat residents according to department protocols and therapeutic care plans, incorporating functional goals and modalities.
- Collaborate with residents and primary caregivers to gather input and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Communicate promptly with the evaluating therapist regarding any issues or status changes.
- Monitor treatment effectiveness, document interactions, and modify plans to achieve functional goals.
- Educate residents and caregivers on assistive devices and treatment techniques, documenting outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with reimbursement regulations and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assist in developing new programs and services within the Rehabilitation department.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of clinical and office areas, adhering to infection control procedures.
- Keep all required licenses, certifications, and competencies up to date, completing annual compliance courses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in relevant field.
- Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Strong communication, documentation, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and reimbursement regulations.
- Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care.
