- Days, Part-time (3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift)
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition and develop individualized respiratory care plans based on thorough evaluations.
- Administer respiratory therapies, oxygen treatments, and medications accurately per physician orders.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as ABGs, Pulmonary Function Tests, Pulse Oximetry, and EKGs to monitor patient status.
- Set up and monitor mechanical ventilators, including BIPAP and CPAP units, ensuring safe and effective operation.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and use of equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) credential or eligible.
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in Massachusetts.
- Certifications in ACLS, NRP, and PALS (obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Prior relevant work experience.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with pulmonary procedures and mechanical ventilation management.
- Familiarity with VAP bundle protocols and infection control procedures.
- Strong patient education and communication skills.
