Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, and administer physical therapy treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician.
• Perform treatments and physical agents to restore function and prevent disability following injury, illness, or physical impairment.
• Assist patients in reaching their maximum performance and functional levels while living within their capabilities.
• Document all treatments thoroughly and accurately on the same day.
• Develop realistic, goal-oriented care plans in coordination with patients and their families.
• Maintain compliance with departmental policies, infection control, safety procedures, and equipment training.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient progress and needs.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and departmental performance initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate).
• Current or eligible licensure as a Physical Therapist by the State of New Mexico.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Effective communication skills in English; additional languages preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of physical therapy modalities, anatomy, physiology, and machine operation.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in physical therapy practice.
• Familiarity with physical medicine techniques and treatment modalities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
