Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, 12-hour shifts, 3 weekends per 4 weeks, floating to other medical units as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to a diverse patient population with various diagnoses, including chronic illnesses, GI issues, infections, neurological conditions, and mental health disorders.
• Perform assessments, develop care plans, and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Manage and operate medical equipment such as IV pumps, wound vacs, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and monitor patients using telemetry.
• Administer medications, including IV therapies, insulin, and heparin drips, following protocols.
• Document patient care accurately using electronic health records and ensure compliance with hospital procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Active BLS certification; IN State RN license or compact license.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care settings.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a hospital with 600+ beds.
• Proven proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with acute or tertiary care nursing in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Ability to float to medical units and adapt to various inpatient care needs.
