Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for radiological examinations, ensuring proper positioning and safety.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients, answer questions, and address concerns.
- Operate radiologic equipment such as CR, Fluoro, and DR rooms safely and efficiently.
- Review exam requests, verify patient identity, and ensure correct ordering and scheduling.
- Assist radiologists and fluoroscopy technicians during procedures, including fluoroscopic and special exams.
- Transfer images to PACS, perform quality control, and document procedures accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following radiation safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and staff throughout the department.
- Perform clerical duties, including managing workflow, assisting with office functions, and supporting departmental operations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a specialized radiologic technology training program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Registered with ARRT in Radiology.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, renewed every two years.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and radiologic safety standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot and operate radiologic equipment effectively.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum of one year of experience performing radiological procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician’s office.
- Experience working with PACS and digital imaging systems.
- Ability to handle urgent and STAT imaging requests efficiently.
