- Full-time, Contract, 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for MRI scans of various body parts, ensuring proper setup of coils, monitoring devices, and patient alignment for optimal imaging.
- Screen patients for ferrous metal implants or other contraindications prior to scan procedures.
- Select and operate pulse sequences, recording all settings and protocols used during each exam.
- Review and evaluate images for quality and completeness, making adjustments as necessary to enhance diagnostic value.
- Manipulate images via console to assist physicians with interpretation and diagnosis.
- Send images to PACS, ensure exams are complete, and verify timely delivery for review.
- Respond to patients’ physical and emotional needs, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions to reduce anxiety.
- Monitor patient condition during scans, including administering IV contrast when required, and respond promptly to any adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and billing records, ensuring compliance with departmental and public health standards.
- Participate in training and educational programs for radiology students, technologists, and physicians.
- Stay current with technological advances and continuing education requirements related to MRI imaging.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years related MRI technologist experience
- ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology or MRI specialty
- BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA
- Proficiency with cardiac imaging and familiarity with GE, Siemens, and Epic systems.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners
- Knowledge of cardiac MRI procedures and protocols
- Prior work in high-volume, dynamic clinical settings
- Strong patient care skills, including managing patient anxieties and contrast reactions
