Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location: Dayton, OH

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Night shifts (4x12 hours)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac patients in IMC/PCU/Stepdown units, including post-operative CABG and valve cases.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, medication drips, and EKG strips.
• Manage complex open heart and thoracic cases, ensuring patient safety and compliance with hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver continuous, high-quality patient care.
• Adhere to patient ratios of approximately 1:4-6, and fulfill unit-specific procedural requirements including IV starts and cardiac management.
• Support floating duties across various units as assigned, including high-risk respiratory and COVID units.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in any state (temporary licenses accepted; processing time 5-10 days).
• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent IMC/PCU/Stepdown experience, with relevant cardiac ICU/post-op background.
• Experience with CABG, valve, TAVR, or similar open-heart procedures.
• Strong proficiency in reading EKG strips and managing cardiac drips.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to pass an online EKG tele competency assessment prior to start.
• EPIC electronic medical record system experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers.
• Previous travel nursing experience.
• Exposure to floating across multiple hospital campuses.
• Ability to work every other weekend and holiday shifts.

Travel & Compliance Notes:

• All candidates must complete necessary lab and EKG tests within 72 hours of signing the contract.
• RTO requests must be included at the time of application; no post-offer RTO negotiations.
• Up to 24 hours of self-reported modules included during orientation and annually.
• Traveler will be fitted for N95 masks unless alternative PPE is provided.
• Local radius: 50 miles for nursing professionals.
