Key Responsibilities
- Support cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing laboratories and operating essential imaging and procedural equipment, including fluoroscopy and digital image acquisition.
- Document patient information, hemodynamic measurements, and ECG data accurately during procedures.
- Maintain aseptic technique and ensure patient safety throughout all interventions.
- Collaborate with medical teams to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient care.
- Serve as radiation safety representative during X-ray use, supporting staff and patient safety protocols.
- Assist with equipment setup, troubleshooting, and operation of advanced cath lab technology, such as intravascular ultrasound, intracardiac echo, and hemodynamic systems.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology, or hold an associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA only).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (AHA only).
- State licensure as required by the state of operation, such as MRT or LMRT for Texas.
- Certification in relevant cath lab or cardiovascular invasive specialties preferred (e.g., RCIS, RCES).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 0-1 year of experience in an acute care or cath lab setting preferred.
- Experience with invasive cardiology or electrophysiology procedures would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of specialized cath lab equipment, including imaging, contrast injection, and hemodynamic recording tools.
