Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac surgical patients in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).
- Assist with perioperative procedures including large-bore IV starts, arterial and central line placement, and epidural management.
- Support patient monitoring and documentation using GE Carescape systems and Cerner documentation.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe anesthesia induction, intubation, positioning, and skin preparation.
- Transport patients to and from the OR, assisting with induction and maintaining patient safety throughout procedures.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and ensure optimal patient outcomes in a high acuity environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current state licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years of registered nurse experience, with specific experience in cardiovascular surgery or CVOR preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Proficiency in BCMA, excellent documentation skills, and ability to work independently.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with preoperative care and post-operative patient management.
- Familiarity with GE Carescape monitoring systems and Cerner documentation.
- Ability to handle complex procedures such as arterial line, central line, and epidural placements.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.
