Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and document physical therapy treatments according to a licensed Physical Therapist’s plan of care.
  • Administer therapy using various techniques and assistive devices to promote functional improvement.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists to develop and update individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises and home programs to support ongoing recovery.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and billing in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Adhere to all applicable professional standards, including those of the state licensing board, APTA, and The Joint Commission.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
  • Eligibility for licensure as a PTA in Indiana (licensure must be obtained within 90 days of employment).
  • CPR certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with movements up to 100 pounds; push/pull efforts up to 300 pounds may be required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior clinical experience or employment as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred.
  • Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license, with willingness to work at multiple locations as needed.
  • Proof of insurance if using a personal vehicle.
