Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents and patients to relieve pain, improve function, and promote healing.
- Document treatments, progress, and responses in medical records following company policies and regulations.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment protocols and exercises.
- Monitor patient responses to interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
- Ensure all treatments are delivered in accordance with the established plan of care and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Empathy, patience, and physical stamina to support patient movement and exercises.
- 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility (may be required by the state).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a skilled nursing or senior care environment.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to physical therapy.
