Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for cardiac ICU patients, including those on ECMO and LVAD support
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamics, manage pressors, sedation, and paralytics
- Perform procedures such as cardioversion, central line insertion, chest tube maintenance, and other advanced cardiac interventions
- Titrate vasopressors and vesicant medications with precision
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care in a high-acuity environment
- Ensure compliance with unit policies and maintain accurate documentation using the Cerner system
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina
- ICU experience, with a minimum of 2+ years in a critical care setting
- Ability to perform and understand advanced cardiac procedures and hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience with ventilators, trachs, telemetry interpretation, and vasoactive medication management
- Comfortable with complex cardiac support devices like IABP, Impella, and CRRT (preferred but not required)
- Certifications: None required, CCRN preferred
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working with ECMO and LVAD patients
- Knowledge of transvenous pacing, TEE, and chest tube management
- Familiarity with unit-specific equipment and advanced cardiac interventions
- Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced ICU environment
