Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for cardiac ICU patients, including those on ECMO and LVAD support
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamics, manage pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Perform procedures such as cardioversion, central line insertion, chest tube maintenance, and other advanced cardiac interventions
• Titrate vasopressors and vesicant medications with precision
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care in a high-acuity environment
• Ensure compliance with unit policies and maintain accurate documentation using the Cerner system

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina
• ICU experience, with a minimum of 2+ years in a critical care setting
• Ability to perform and understand advanced cardiac procedures and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with ventilators, trachs, telemetry interpretation, and vasoactive medication management
• Comfortable with complex cardiac support devices like IABP, Impella, and CRRT (preferred but not required)
• Certifications: None required, CCRN preferred

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with ECMO and LVAD patients
• Knowledge of transvenous pacing, TEE, and chest tube management
• Familiarity with unit-specific equipment and advanced cardiac interventions
• Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced ICU environment
