Job Title
• Registered Nurse - CVICU

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, Night shift (3x12 hours)

Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialized care for post-open heart recovery patients, including thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies, and TAVR procedures.
• Monitor and interpret complex cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and administer blood products.
• Operate and manage advanced cardiac assist devices such as ECMO, IABP, and Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD/RVAD).
• Manage arterial lines, pulmonary artery lines (Swan-Ganz), and titrate vasoactive drips.
• Care for ventilated patients, including ventilator management, BIPAP/CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula.
• Perform and assist with procedures like chest tube insertions/removals and manage critical medication infusions.
• Adhere to infection control protocols, including PPE and isolation precautions.

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU or open heart recovery ICU experience.
• Valid NC or Compact state nursing license with current certifications.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Ability to interpret EKGs, arterial blood gases (ABGs), and manage complex cardiac and ventilator patients.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience managing ports and titrating vasoactive drips.
• Skills in chest tube procedures, BiPAP/CPAP maintenance, and high flow nasal cannula.
• Familiarity with SBAR communication and EPIC documentation systems.
