Registered Nurse - LTAC
Location: Peoria, IL
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a long-term acute care setting.
- Assist with respiratory therapy procedures, including troubleshooting ventilators and monitoring patient status.
- Administer medications, including titratable drips such as Heparin, and manage IV therapies including PEG feeds and CVC/PICC/Midline care.
- Monitor and respond to patient needs, ensuring safety and compliance with clinical protocols.
- Document patient care accurately and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Support patient recovery from respiratory failure, post-surgical care, wound management, and post-stroke or trauma assessments.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application has been initiated.
- BLS certification; ACLS preferred but not required.
- Experience with PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline management, and tracheostomy patients.
- Ability to titrate drips, especially Heparin.
- Familiarity with respiratory equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow devices.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Previous experience in LTAC or similar long-term care settings.
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy and patient monitoring technologies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during night shifts.
