Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to women in labor, during delivery, postpartum, and to newborns, ensuring maternal and infant well-being
- Monitor labor progress, perform assessments, prepare for procedures such as C-sections and inductions, and document nursing care accurately
- Administer medications, including IV treatments, and adhere to infection control protocols within the OB department
- Offer emotional support, prepare delivery rooms, and coordinate transfers as needed
- Educate patients on postpartum and infant care, ensuring comfort and safety during all stages of maternal care
Required Qualifications
- Valid Colorado RN license
- Current CPR certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (preferred, or within first year of employment)
- ACLS certification within one year of hire
Preferred Experience / Skills
- At least 4 years of obstetrics nursing experience preferred
- Knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care best practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to perform effectively under stressful conditions
- Ability to handle technical aspects of mother and infant care and work effectively with diverse populations
