Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Peoria, IL

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, night shifts, contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to post-operative surgical, trauma, and medical overflow patients in a fast-paced hospital unit.
• Monitor and manage patients' vital signs, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, and drainage devices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Follow prescribed protocols for medication administration and patient safety.
• Assist with patient mobility, assessments, and education.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that application has been initiated.
• BLS certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant nursing education.
• Last four digits of SSN and middle initial required for submission.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to floating expectations.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Prior experience in a surgical or medical-surgical setting.
• Critical thinking skills and ability to respond quickly in an acute care environment.
• Good bedside manner and team-oriented attitude.
• Experience with post-op patient care, wound care, and IV therapy.
• Knowledge of telemetry monitoring is a plus.
